WHS Wake-On-Lan option

Postby dawg on Tue Sep 02, 2008 4:32 pm

Hello All,

I like to be able to power my WHS on/off remotely.

I found add-ins and documentations for starting/shutting down a PC attached to the WHS but how do I go about power on/off the WHS remotely.

I don't need to have the server on 24/7 and I'm sure it doesn't use a lot of power but when it doesn't need to be on why not power it down specially if I can find a way to remotely power the device remotely.

Is this possible???

Cheers
dawg

Highly unlikely since servers by their very nature are designed to be running 24/7 so it's not likely there are any power management settings in the OS to allow this. It might show up as an add in some day so keep your eyes open!
