Not a knock down drag out system but works well for my needs.

WHS OEM (purchased from NewEgg for less than $100)
Dell Optlipex GX270 (WHS Box) - specs as follows
- 2GB DDR PC2700
- 320 GB Internal Sata HDD
- 3 Port Firewire PCI card
- Onboard sound/nic/video (really do not need anything else)
- P4 2.8GHZ Processor
- CD/DVD Rom
- 500GB External HDD (Sata in the box - USB Connection)

I have a bunch of systems connecting to it with many configurations.

Windows 7 64 Bit
Windows 7 32-bit
XP Pro (32-bit)
XP Media Center 2005

All works exceptionally well!
