But it works GREAT as a temporary WHS box!
Specs:
20" iMac
2.0 GHz T2500 CoreDuo (not a Core2Duo)
2GB DDR2 667MHz RAM
Internal 250GB drive
External USB2 500GB drive
Anyway, my parents used to buy my computers (all Macs), and now that i moved out on my own, buying a new Mac was just to expensive. So i built a custom Q6600 powered machine, and relegated my iMac to running WHS, and so far i cant complain. If anyone is familiar with how BootCamp works, you know that normally OS X has to reside on the drive WITH Windows. Well, the WHS installer, as you know, doesn't give you many options (in fact it gives you none) as to where to install. So the WHS installer deleted the small OS X partition i had set aside and did its own thing. So yea, i have a Mac without OS X on it at all. Im still a Mac fan at heart so that makes me kinda sad, but i DO love WHS alot. I plan to eventually build a Via EPIA SN series box in the Chenbro case, just like this one actually. http://www.wegotserved.co.uk/2008/03/29/hands-on-chenbro-es34069-home-server-chassis
In the pic you also see my WRT54G running the Tomato firmware (amazing firmware btw) in Wireless Ethernet bridge mode, connected to my main wireless router downstairs. And yes, those Waverunner DIY parabolic signal boosters DO work, haha.
All of the stuff is on the floor in my closet, the iMac, my printer (it is a network printer) and my main rig (outside the closet, not pictured) are all plugged into the WRT54G. The USB2 drive is cooled by the air conditioning vent for the time being.
