HP MediaSmart Server EX470 - can it run on 220-240V?

Postby drink_wine on Thu Sep 10, 2009 12:52 am

I live in the US and have a HP MediaSmart Server EX470 however I may need to work for a while in Asia and was thinking of bringing my WHS with me. The voltage will be 220-240V @ 50 cycles. The HP online specs for the EX470 states: "AC input 100–127V ~5.0A max or 200–240V ~3.0A max, 50/60Hz."

So it looks like the HP server will work in a 240V environment but in looking at the back plate of the server, I do not see a 110V/240V switch where the power supply input is. Will the power supply automatically adjust if I plug the server into a 240V outlet? I don't want to blow up my server so any feedback appreciated.

Thanks.
