High end/High Spec Server

Postby railman on Wed Jun 04, 2008 1:56 am

Hello,

My server will probably be considered by most of you as completely over the top, extreme overkill, rediculous, etc., but I have good reasons for what I have. At any rate here are the specs.

Case: Silverstone TJ07
MB: Supermicro X7DVL-E
CPU: 2 Intel Xeon 5070, 3.46 Ghz 4Mb Cache, Dual Core
RAM: 4GB Wintec PC4200 533 FBDIMM
HD: Western Digital 60GB IDE for OS
6 Western Digital WD2500YS RE SATA II for storage
DVD: Lite-On DVD/CD read/write

I built this machine as a file, print, mail, web, and media server running Windows Server 2003 SBS. I have since decided that I do not have the time to properly manage/administer that configuration so am converting it to a WHS server.
