Hello from the Netherlands

Postby GuustFlater on Tue Aug 19, 2008 1:49 pm

Hi folks,

I'm from the Netherlands and I am planning to set-up WHS on a three year old Dell minitower.

Currently, I am using a very old laptop (Dell Latitude Cpi 233 MHz) as 24/7 file server and ftp server, printer server, TwonkyMedia server, utorrent download machine, and backup machine for the 'My Documents' area of other PC's in the home. Everything using different software and a 250 GB harddisk connected through USB1.1. It's not fast, but it works. I control it using VNC (from home or remote).

Now it's time for a change, and I think WHS is a good choice to do everything I did with that old laptop, but in a more handy way. In the next months I will be more often on this forum to check out about WHS and find tips and tricks.

Bye for now.
