General Questions

Postby hspeight on Mon Nov 02, 2009 9:19 pm

I've seen screenshots of the Remote Access control panel where the Router has a setup button, is that part of Power Pack 3 or did I miss something? I've installed two copies of WHS and both worked fine until the router setup. I was able to configure one by hand and get everything working. Not so lucky with the other… I have everything I need to trouble shoot the one not working, there is some good documentation out there, that’s one of the places where I’ve seen the setup button for the router. Don’t need help with setup, it’s pretty straight forward.

I have installed Microsoft Security Essentials on an XP and Vista machine. MSE does not appear to be recognized by WHS for backup purposes, at least on those two platforms. Will this support be in Power Pack 3?

When I initially installed WHS, all updates where done through the MS Update site, by physically logging into the server, not the update tab on the console, does that hurt anything? Am I the only one that did that?  Currently running Power Pack 2, anxious to install and use Power Pack 3. So much so, I registered and downloaded the beta, but hesitant to install since it is close to official release. I may bite the bullet on my home network?

Thanks, Howard

Installed Power Pack 3, still no setup button for router. That answered that question, so exactly where is that coming from, anyone?
