Automatic power on/off for backup

Postby dougforester on Sun Oct 11, 2009 9:42 pm

I have two PCs backed up by WHS. Every day at the specified backup time, my laptop PC powers itself on automatically and gets backed up. However, my desktop PC doesn't get powered on.
I have three questions:
1. What is the mechanism that powers on the laptop?
2. How can I get the desktop to power on automatically for backup?
3. How can I get the PCs to power themselves off when the backup is complete?
Thanks.

Since no one has posted any answers to my questions, I assume that no one watching this forum knows anything about the subject. Perhaps someone would be so kind as to point me to someplace I could get answers?
Thanks.
